Mrs. Stella O'Brien
Kindergarten Teacher
Hi, my name is Stella O’Brien, and I am the Kindergarten teacher at Zion Lutheran School. I live on a farm north of Liberty, Kansas, on county road 5190. I am married to Ron O’Brien, and we have three sons: Jay, Aaron, and Cody. I enjoy working outside with my family and our farm activities.I received my Bachelors of Science in Education with a math minor from Pittsburg State University in 1988. I then coordinated the Independence SEK-CAP Head Start preschool center for four years. I took a few years off from work to enjoy our children. It was in August of 1998 that I started teaching half time - 7&8 math and science at Zion. In August 2000, I started to teach kindergarten. I continued with my education and obtained an Early Childhood Endorsement and Certificate in December of 2003.
I am very active with the youth activities at my home church, Liberty United Methodist Church. I direct Wednesday Night Kidz Club, coordinate vacation bible school, and lead children’s church lessons. I am also very active with the Peppy Progressive 4-H club, Cherryvale band boosters, and the Cherryvale Fair board.
I feel fortunate to have the opportunity to work with professionals in the education field at Zion Lutheran School.
